When you tour with me you will get the total dedication of a knowledgeable, mature tour guide who will ensure that you enjoy all your personal preferences and interests during your visit to the Cape. No expense in time or effort will be sacrificed to ensure your utmost satisfaction. I have personally travelled to all the destinations possible in the Cape during the last 40 years and have experienced first hand the country, the towns and the accommodation available. But let me tell you how I operate -
First I would like you to have a look at some of the possible destinations you can visit as well as some of the activities you can participate in. (click on the TOURS button). There are so many that I cannot list all but this will be a good starter for you. If you like you can e mail me and I will send this list to you for you to check the items you are interested in and re-mail it to me.
Once you have advised me of your date of arrival and departure, your preferences and destinations/tours you wish to visit I will immediately provide you with my suggestions and advice on how to structure your visit to the best advantage.
When we determine the tours I will provide you with a cost.
Then it's over to you!

MORE ABOUT ME

If you wish to use a personal guide you might like to know a bit more about me before you commit to touring with me.
I was born in Cape Town in 1944 and have lived in Cape Town all my life with extensive travelling to all parts of the world. As an aspiring Art student in my youth I decided that more money was to be made in industry and for 37 years was employed by an Industrial Supply company, 20 years of which I was CEO. I have inter alia been Chairman of the Historical Society of Cape Town, acquired the old Josephine Mill for the Society, served on the Environmental Advisory Board of the Cape Town City Council, written The Pictorial History of South Africa which was published in 1972 as well as numerous articles for various journals. I have been a hiker and climber with an interest in Botany, Geology, History, Wildlife and a consuming love of the Cape. Four years ago I decided to share all my knowledge and love of the Cape with others by becoming a tour guide. I hope you will enjoy this with me.
I am a registered Tour Guide with the South African Dept. of Economic Development, Tourism & Culture, a member of the Cape Tour Guides Association, the Tour Operators Association of Cape Town and IGLTA.

SIZE OF GROUPS

I prefer groups of 1-7 persons allowing me to give very personal attention but am quite happy to accommodate larger groups

RATES

There are so many variables in tours that I cannot give an exact cost
without knowing the extent but on average a local tour will cost a minimum of R1200; this being the rate for 1- 2 persons. For groups larger than 2 persons the rate per person decreases. The cost of tours into the interior involving accommodation and meals depend on the distance and the facilities. Certain items are excluded from the local tour rates mentioned such as meals, Table Mountain Cable Car, Cape Point and Robben Island Ferry fares.

VEHICLES USED

For 1-3 persons I use my comfortable, air-conditioned, 4 wheel drive Mitsubishi Pajero ( similar to a Montero in the US ) and for groups 4-7 persons a Volkswagen Microbus. Larger groups than this I select the most appropriate vehicle.

OTHER FACILITIES I OFFER

If you tour with me for a minimum of one full day I provide a FREE meet and transfer from airport to hotel and return on departure.
I am also able to assist in accommodation recommendations / reservations whether it be hotel, B&B, guest house or lodge. There is such a wide choice and I can make it easier to make a decision to suit your needs and budget.
Finally I would really like you to look at my Testimonials page to see the response to my personal tours. All these comments are unsolicited and I am sure any one of the writers would be quite happy if you contacted them. I would like to think that all my visitors leave as friends and I would like you to be one of them

Warmest greetings from South Africa

BRIAN ALDRIDGE
